Musik

Musik is a responsive theme with a default background image that shifts from turquoise to blue. The different sections of the page have different opacity, allowing the background color to shine through. The theme has one sidebar (You can move the sidebar from the right to the left side of the page) and one footer widget area. You can also upload a logo and choose its position: header, sidebar or footer.

  1. Hi Carolina,

    thank you very much for the Musik-Theme. I will use it for our relaunch for our website.
    I only wanna to change a little thing but I cannot find it in the styles.css: I want to change the background color of the main menu and the sidebar.
    It would be so great, if you could give me a little hint.
    Thank you very much in advance!

    Best greetings!
    Gunther

    1. Hi!
      I’m sorry, your comments got caught in the spam filter.
      Actually the background color of the menu, widgets and sidebar are black, semi transparent images, so it depends on the background color of the site.
      You need to create a child theme and replace the code for the image in the stylesheet.
      Lines: 349 (menu), 1150 (sidebar) , 1266 (footer widgets): background: url(images/70.png);

  2. Hi,
    thank you for the music-theme. It is easy to use and I like it.
    No I want to change the background color of the main menu and sidebar, but I cannot find the correct parameter in the style.css.
    I would be so glad, if you could give me hint, where to change this.
    Thank you very much!

  3. since the Version 1.5 the website title can´ t be cangend the color. how ever you do in the theme settings the textcolor ist black

  4. Hi Carolina,
    I am using musik 1.4 for our website. I did not like the white background on posts so I changed it to no background. This leaves the beautiful blue and microphone on each page. My only problem right now is that the links on the event page are a similar color. I can’t find the color code for these lines in the style sheet (tried just about everything). is it possible and, if so, can you let me know how to change the color of the links to black?

    Thanks.

    1. Hi!
      I’m guessing that event is a custom post type added via plugin? It is possible that the plugin has added styling to it
      too. Otherwise you should be able to style it by adding .event before the color: .event a{color:#ffff}
      to change it i for regular posts as well, use .post a{color:#ffff}
      Adding these to the bottom of the stylesheet should replace the previous color for links in posts.

  5. Thank you very much. I followed your advise and changed the hosting company and a managed WP plan – much better! Now Musik immediatelly installed and looks good.

    Thank you for the good advise.

  6. This is currently the highest version that my hosting company offers. The new WP version requires SQL V. 5.5 but awardspace obly offers 5.1.
    So, I guess that without a higher version the Musik theme will not work?

    1. No matter what theme you use, you really should consider switching hosts. Or even choosing wordpress.com, because WordPress 3.0 is not safe to use. Check for example amazon.com’s AWS free tier webhosting.

  7. Thank you for the quick reply.

    I am using:
    Host: awardspace.com.
    CMS: wordpress-3.0
    Hosting OS: Proprietary *nix
    Perl version: 5.8.4
    MySQL versions: 4, 5.1
    PHP Version: 5.2.5

    Thank you.

    1. Hi!
      It is important that you update your WordPress version as soon as possible for security reasons.

  8. Hi,

    Musik is a Beautiful theme, thank you.

    I installed Musik and got a blank page. I enabled DEBUG and get the following:

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function display_header_text() in /home/www/gotesman.com/wp-content/themes/musik/header.php on line 29

    Can you, please, help?

    Thank you.

    1. Hi!
      I am unable to reproduce this error, so I need some more information.
      display_header_text is actually a function included in WordPress. What version of WordPress are you using?

  9. I upgraded the MUSIK-theme to version 1.3 but now the lay-out of the site is broken. The “right sidebar” is no longer there and all widgets are on the bottom of the page. According to the settings however, the right sidebar should still be there
    Can this be fixed or can I “downgrade” to the previous version???
